Art and Design

Art and design is a highly creative subject which aims to engage, inspire and challenge pupils. During art lessons, children develop their observation and fine-motor skills as they design and create their own pieces of artwork. Children have the chance to explore the work of a variety of artists and experiment with different media and techniques. Art helps children to develop their imagination, creativity, independence and problem-solving skills, as well as allowing them to be analytical and decisive learners.

At Raynham, in addition to art lessons, children’s artistic skills are developed across the curriculum. For example, children complete close observational drawings in science and illustrate stories in English. Art is a subject which is thoroughly enjoyed by our pupils and their original art work can be seen all around the school.
