Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage comprises of our Pre-School, Nursery and Reception classes, ages 2 – 5 years. The Early Years sets the foundation to every child’s future learning and is therefore an essential part of their development.  We strive to provide secure, enabling learning environments to ensure that the children’s first experience of school is positive. We value all parents and carers and involve them in their child’s first steps in education.

We follow the National Early Years Curriculum which is divided into 7 areas of learning:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional
  • Literacy
  • Maths
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

At Raynham children play and explore and take an active role in their learning. Through encouraging independence the children are able to demonstrate their creative and critical thinking and raise their own questions to extend their learning. Our teachers carefully plan the curriculum based around children’s needs and interests, providing challenge at all time.
