‘The Edmonton Glee’ was set up by Edmonton Community partnership four years ago in response to popular demand from the children in the Edmonton area. It was inspired by the popular musical TV series although the children have taken ownership and made it their own. This project gave our children and children from the local schools in the Edmonton Community Partnership the opportunity to develop their singing and dancing skills which may have gone unnoticed.
The fully inclusive clubs, were run by inspirational tutors from Pineapple Performing Arts School (PPAS), focus on fun and raising aspirations.
After weeks of training after school, all Edmonton schools in the partnership met up at Millfield Theatre on Monday 19 June to celebrate all the hard work, achievements and amazing talents of our young people in our community.
The live show was performed in front of a panel of judges, teaching staff and family and friends of the performers.
Teaching staff from all the schools, family and friends attended to cheer the children on. Many prizes, scholarships, trophies were awarded at the end of the show.
We would like to thank Edmonton Community Partnership for organising and funding such a spectacular event and Pineapple Performing Arts School (PPAS), and their
inspirational tutors for working resiliently with our children.
